For the 10th time in the past 13 years, Kansas Public Radio has been named the Station of the Year by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.

Lawrence, KS - infoZine- KPR took the top prize in the noncommercial station category of the annual awards announced Aug. 28 by Kent Cornish, president of the broadcasters association.

"These awards reflect the high quality of the station and the people who work here," said Janet Campbell, KPR general manager. "There were awards for news coverage, for music programming and for promotional announcements. That's a broad spectrum of programming and now all of it is award-winning."

KPR received five first-place awards, three second-place awards and one third-place award. KPR swept four categories. Awards will be presented during the association's annual convention Oct. 12 in Wichita.

"I'm always very pleased when every member of our news staff wins or shares in statewide awards," said J Schafer, news director. "It's always nice to be recognized, in this case by out-of-state judges."
