Actor Training Studio Adds Coach, Acting Workshop for Young Actors

TheatreNew workshop at ATS for young actors, ages 12 to 15, taught by new coach, Mateusz Lewczenko.

 
Kansas City, MO - infoZine - The Actor Training Studio announces a new workshop for young actors, ages 12 to 15. The ATS Young Actors Workshop will run starting Wednesday, October 1 and ending Wednesday, November 5th - six consecutive weeks, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Tuition is $160 per student with family discounts available. Class size will be strictly limited to 10, to ensure individualized attention and instruction for each actor.

This first Young Actors Workshop will focus on scene study and monologue/audition techniques for theatre - students will receive training in character development and learn what goes into a successful audition. Mateusz Lewczenko comes onboard to teach the young actors at ATS.

As a freelance coach and director, Mateusz has taught with the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, The Coterie Theatre, Starlight Theatre and as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. He has directed workshops, and lectures at local high schools including Pembroke Hill High School, Shawnee Mission East and Blue Springs High School. Mateusz has been seen in shows at the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, the Unicorn Theatre, the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, the Coterie Theatre and the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. You can also hear and see him in various radio and television commercials in the Midwest.

Mateusz Lewczenko obtained his MFA in Acting and Directing from the University of Missouri - Kansas City where he also performed in many shows. Some favorites includeThe Importance of Being Earnest, The Maids' Tragedy and The Circus Show. He hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he obtained his BA in Theater from Temple University and is now proud to call Kansas City his new home. Regarding the ATS Young Actors Workshop, Mateusz said, "No prior experience or preparation is necessary to attend, the only prerequisites are smiles and a desire to risk being great."
