Kansas City, MO - infoZine - If you want to get to know local producers of the region's freshest, healthiest and best-tasting food, bring your friends and family to this year's cross-town double-header, tailor-made for locavores and growers in the greater Kansas City area.

Nutrition and gardening workshops are scheduled, chefs from InHomeBistro.com will be presenting cooking demos and, along with many of our member growers, we'll have lots of other organizations and vendors on hand.

Saturday, March 29th at the Shawnee Civic Centre (at Phlumm and Johnson Drive), Shawnee, KS
  • Healthy Soil = Healthy Food = Healthy People: Come learn from organic farmer, Dan May, how organic growing practices create healthy soil necessary for optimum nutrition and health.
  • Don't Supersize Me-Localize Me!: Hilary Brown, chef and owner of Local Burger, will share the exciting story of how she helped radically change the health of a former fast-food junkie by simply feeding him wholesome, local and organic food from her restaurant for 30 days.
  • Chef's Demo at 12 noon: "Spring Flavors from Local Fare" with Jacqueline Bopp, Chef Jacci of InHome Bistro


Saturday, April 5th, at the Roger T. Sermon Community Center (at the S.E. corner of Noland and Truman Road), Independence, MO
  • Workshop at 9:30 AM: "Grow Food, Not Lawns"
  • Chef's Demo at 12 noon: "Spring Flavors from Local Fare" with Jacqueline Bopp, Chef Jacci of InHome Bistro
