ARCHIVE :: Sunday, April 08, 2007 <<<<<<  :: infoZine Staff
FeaturesToday is Easter Sunday one of the most joyous days in the calendar of all Christian denominations.

Washington, D.C. - infoZine - One of the ways the day is celebrated involves Easter eggs. Eggs were given as gifts by the ancient Greeks, Persians and Chinese at spring festivals, and brightly colored eggs are known as early as the middle ages. What is billed as the world's largest Easter egg hunt will take place today in Homer, Georgia where some 150,000 eggs will be hidden, including 100 containing prizes. Across the U.S., so many eggs have been decorated that this coming week is designated as Egg Salad Week. Americans consume an average of 256 eggs each year 180 of them fresh.
