Medical Reserve Corps to Receive Award from Air Force Association
Sponsored by MARC and the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the American Red Cross, MAMRC is made up of volunteer members who are ready to provide support to city and county public health departments throughout the Kansas City area if a large-scale public health emergency situation should arise. These trained volunteers can assist in dispensing medicines or administering immunizations for a large number of people.
MAMRC is still recruiting volunteers - both medical and non-medical - who can provide leadership and professional health care services during emergencies. For more information on the corps, visit www.kcmedicalreservecorps.org/.
The luncheon will be held at noon on Saturday, July 1, at the Disabled American Veterans Building, 8787 Old Santa Fe, Kansas City, Mo., and is open to the public.
In appreciation of all that is being done by the volunteers of MAMRC, the chapter Honors Element will conduct a special ceremony of appreciation for representatives present at the meeting.
The Air Force Association (AFA) educates the public about the role of aerospace power in the defense of the nation; advocates aerospace power and a strong national defense; and supports the United States Air Force. The association is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
